King George 2011

Quality-controlled spectral measurements of the UV irradiance
The campaign on King George Island (62°12’ S; 58°57’ W) was aimed at studying some of the characteristic of the local UV climatology. The campaign required shipping roughly 1 Ton of equipment and involved a team of 8 researchers (including 1 postdoc, 3 Phd students and 3 undergraduate students) from the Universidad de Santiago and the University of Hannover (Germany, IMUK). The team carried out quality-controlled spectral measurements of the UV irradiance as well as of the sky UV radiance distribution (by using a state-of-the-art sky scanner system).
