The world’s highest levels of surface UV
Aimed at the measurement of the world’s highest levels of surface UV radiation, a team from the Universidad de Santiago (USACH) and the University of Hannover (Germany, IMUK) carried out in January 2013 a campaign of ground-based measurements at the Chajnantor plateau (located at 5,100 meters above sea level in the Atacama desert, 40 km east of San Pedro de Atacama) and at the Paranal Observatory (located on Cerro Paranal at 2,635 m altitude, 120 km south of Antofagasta).
